Flat Stanleys Abound!
Below: 1) Oliver and this Texan Flat Stanley. 2) The group that has received their Flat Stanleys as of midweek. 3) Aidan receiving his Flat Stanley in the mailbox in Tennessee via smartboard and yes 4) Flat Stanley had a difficult time driving. Somebody, please design a booster chair big enough for him.
Weekly Highlights 4/20/12
And the weeks just keep zipping by. It's hard to fathom that there are only seven weeks of school left and that your child will be a third grader. Moms, please keep May 4th at 12 noon open for our annual Mother's Day Luncheon in room seven. This is an event that you do not want to miss. Also, we are looking for parents to help bring in pot stickers, sushi, and fortune cookies for our flight to the Orient on May 18th.
We are enjoying receiving the Flat Stanleys from all over the country. Texas Stanley arrived in the mail the other day with his ten gallon cowboy hat, boots and spurs. In math, we covered a unit on probability and odds. We continue moving up with our multiplication. And in Social Studies, we are learning about just how rough our pioneers had it coming out on the Oregon Trail. They were true heroes.
Ivan - I liked the creative writing piece on my favorite person, P.E., watching, The Adventures of a Cardboard Box and the Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday video. I also liked making clay pots in Mrs. Switkes' class.
Kenna - I liked the Mardi Gras and Adventures of a Cardboard Box video, working on our notes in music and receiving my second Flat Stanley from New Jersey.
Rohan - I liked the Mardi Gras video, the Adventures of a Cardboard Box, and writing my second Flat Stanley letter.
Aidan - I liked playing handball in P.E., art and getting my Tennessee Flat Stanley and my Virginia Flat Stanley. That's so cool that he went to the Clarksville Train Station where the song by the Monkees was inspired.
Liam - I liked P.E., art, our creative writing paper, I chose President Lincoln, Mrs. Barulich and the Mardi Gras video!
Oliver - I liked getting my Flat Stanley from Mrs. Barulich's niece, Elizabeth in Texas. He has a cowboy hat, boots and even his own personalized belt buckle. I also liked the Mardi Gras video, P.E. and art.
