Weekly Highlights 2/3- Ms. Der Yuen

Namaste! A huge thank you to Malika Junaid,Vinita Mathur, and Laxmi Natarajan for their tremendous energy and efforts into organizing our incredible flight to India and Pakistan! The food, dancing, clothes, music, photos, and instruments truly brought our learning to life. The incredible Powerpoint presentation that they created is on CD that each child is bringing home so they can share with you. Many more photos will be uploaded to SmugMug.

 
Nina: I liked researching Clara Barton, the flight to India (especially since my mom was there!), seeing Ms Der Yuen and the antler that Alice found in her yard, and making a flying dog tangram.

Mihir: I definitely like the flight the best, especially the food. I also like seeing Ms. Der Yuen, making the vinegar and water mixture in science, starting Stuart Little for read aloud, and Sarah Plain and Tall in literature.

Riley: I liked the science experiment with vinegar, starting Sarah Plain and Tall, showing my tangram pillar story to Ms. Sue, and the flight.

Maya: I liked the flight, especially getting bangles and henna. I also liked starting Stuart Little in read aloud, PE, and the vinegar experiment in science.

Spencer: I liked Sarah Plain and Tall, Ms. Der Yuen sharing the antler that Alice found, the flight to India, and kickball in PE.

Brennan: I liked the food on the flight, starting Stuart Little, and kickball in PE.

Lindsay: I liked Ms. Der Yuen’s VIP poster and antler that Alice found, science, the flight, Stuart Little for read aloud, and making the tangram and story about Cutie and Cutie Pie’s house.

Kayla: I liked starting Stuart Little in read aloud, getting henna on my hand in the flight, and the vinegar experiment in science.

Mishal: I liked everything! I especially like the flight and all the good food, PE, science, and starting Stuart Little.

Brynn: I liked everything! I liked science, seeing Ms. Der Yuen, learning more cursive, the flight- especially the food, starting Stuart Little for read aloud and Sarah Plain and Tall in literature, making tangrams, and seeing the antler that Alice found.

Alex C.: I liked playing doctor and spy in PE, seeing the antler that Alice found, getting henna on my hand during the flight, and the baking soda experiment in science.

Alexander L.: I liked getting bracelets on the flight, putting up my coffee filters in science, and playing doctor and spy in PE.

Matt: I liked the flight, making a tangram house and story about it, and math.
